Abstract

The article analyze the benefits and drawbacks of teleworking in the context of Covid 19 pandemic. Telecommuting offers the opportunity for a more flexible schedule for workers and the freedom to work from an alternative location, away from the premise
of the employer. One of the most significant challenges telecommuting employees are facing during the pandemic is the work-life conflict they are experiencing due to blurred boundaries between work and personal life. Blurring of the boundary between paid work-
personal life is always an issue with teleworking, even in the best of times, but it seems to be particularly problematic due to the unique circumstances of the pandemic. A conceptual approach was used to analysis the benefits and drawbacks of telecommuting
during Covid 19. Socio-technical system (STS) theory was adopted which examines the relationships between people, technology, and the work environment, to design work in a way that enhances job satisfaction and increases productivity. The study therefore,
recommended thattelecommuters, should be able to separate their work from their personal lives, and must be capable of overcoming the threats posed by working in isolation.
